Necklace competed against top-class rivals and demonstrated both a winning instinct and talent. The Varenne daughters, in combination with Maharajah, have produced top-class horses such as Derby third-place finisher Alone and Solvalla Grand Prix winner Selected News.

Necklace, a daughter of Varenne, won the Swedish Trotting Association’s Young Horse Series as a three-year-old, the Mare Championship Consolation as a four-year-old, and recorded a total of eight wins, including a record time of 1:12.4. Her first three offspring of racing age have all set a record time of 1:13.7 or better. Gold Chains’ full brother Worth A Lot has won a trial for the Diamantstoet, and his sister Bling Bling (by Going Kronos) has, among other achievements, finished second in the Diamantstoet final. Necklace is a sister to the millionaire Remote Control, and the same dam line includes the twelve-time millionaire Scandal Play.
