About objects
In this photograph, the horse has taken its place in the historic ruins of Borgholm, a magical image which, like many of Vainionpää's photos, is a work of art in its own right. The horse is not always the main subject in Vainionpää's photographs; sometimes it is simply part of the Swedish landscape. Horses have always been a big part of Jenna Vainionpää's life, and over time she also became interested in photography.
– I always find myself drawn to the horse's face, and specifically the horse's eyes. Many horses convey so much just by being themselves, when we can sense their emotions. This is something that really appeals to me when it comes to expressing myself artistically.
