Sanctuaire comes from the Minerva line in Sweden, which has produced many classic winners over the years. Sanctuaire's dam line goes all the way back to the outstanding mare and world record holder Nancy Hanks.

Duchess is Minerva’s grandmother; she was imported to Sweden from the United States, and Nancy Hanks is Duchess’s Dam.
