Musketeer is the younger brother of Stefan Melander's top-class Porthos Amok, who earned SEK 3.3 million, trotted 10 times without defeat, and came second in the Swedish Trotting Derby behind Mosaique Face when the latter set a new Swedish record. The sire-dam combination Maharajah-Pine Chip has produced Devil Sound and Strong Heartbeat, among others. Musketeer has been X-rayed and is sound.
