Two top contenders in a thrilling matchup!

Both Calgary Games and Tunika were standout horses on the track, and Tunika has also demonstrated that she passes on talent and ability. Her three-year-old, Homely Style, has shown the potential to be a top performer in her crop.

For three seasons, Tunika was one of the best mares in her crop. She won the Svampen as a two-year-old, finished second in the E3 as a three-year-old, and third in the Derbystoet as a four-year-old. In between, she won the ASVT Auction Race, finished second in the Breeders’ Course, and placed second in the Four-Year-Old Elite for Mares during the Elitlopp weekend. Her dam, Verona du Ling, is a sister to Stochampionat winner Volita du Ling, who sired Vanessa du Ling (1:11.9, 2.5 million), the millionaire Paying Guest (1:12.6), and six (!) additional offspring with records of 1:15.7 or better. Tunika’s first offspring, Every Day Elegant (b. 2019), won the Ibrahim Pasha Stakes and is approaching one million in earnings.
