Steffi made her mark in the U.S. and made her debut in July as a two-year-old with a time of 1:15.0; she broke that record by one second later that same year. Her dam, Navratilova, is the dam of the 1:11 trotter Andre Agassi, and her granddam, Amanda C., is the dam of the Gold Division winner Garros. Steffi descends from Pompanette’s formidable maternal line, which has produced horses such as the million-dollar earner and Hambletonian winner Duenna, Swedish Championship winner Black And White, the breeding stallion Gift Box, and last year’s Kriteriet runner-up Bengan. Steffi’s two offspring older than three years have trotted 1:12.3 and 1:14.3, respectively.
