Artorius comes from Glenna H's classic and highly productive line of mares, which has produced many millionaires and big race winners over the years. Most notable among these are Sweden's most successful horse of all time, Victory Tilly, and double Derby winner Calgary Games.

Mamma Barbroked won races herself as a two-year-old and is the sister of Manalapan (winner of the Breeders Crown for four-year-olds) and Dairy Queen (winner of the Svampen mare division).

The combination of Explosive Matter and Pine Chip has previously produced, for example, Explosive De Vie 9.9ak, worth SEK 3.6 million.

Barbroke's first offspring, three-year-old Friend of Elves, raced twice as a two-year-old and has competed in the toughest possible competition all season this year. He has never finished lower than fifth, earned SEK 256,000 and set records of 12.0ak and 13.4am. Friend of Elves has qualified for the semifinals of the Breeders Crown and will start in the qualifying races on September 9.
